Conn Smythe Nomination: 4/30/09
I've ragged on, we've ragged on, hell, everybody's ragged on poor Kyle Wellwood. But two separate high sticks, one causing that nasty gash on his eyebrow, the other knocking out his damn tooth. But not only that, the fireplug played well. He assisted on the 'Nucks 1st and 3rd goals. According to Puck Daddy he also drew 5 penalties last night. A 2 point, 10 PIMs drawn, +2 night isn't too shabby.
Even if Patrick Kane gave him a run for his money, I had to give it to someone who takes such an utter beating, and can smile in a postgame interview. Kyle Wellwood gets the nomination.
Like I said, Kane gets a honorable mention for his 2 goal night, but a -3 showing takes him down a notch. Sami Salo as well, with the GWG late in the 3rd. A great game, that I fell asleep during. Son. Of. A. Bitch.
