Yeah, we remember it. Duke L'orange could be potentially the most badass cartoon character of all time. Eat that, Daffy.
Oh you want something actually hockey related? Ok. Buffalo has won 9 of 13 in January, the Ducks have gone 6-7-1. For the Sabres it will be Patrick Lalime in net, as Lindy announced days ago he'd be in between the pipes. We have lost another defensemen, this time Jaro Spacek will be out, Mike Weber, our #1 defensive prospect, has now returned from injury and joined the team in Anaheim. Against the Coyotes, 3 dmen logged over 27 minutes, that is insane and frankly can't happen again. We now have 4 guys on the blueline that weren't playing just a week and a half ago. Jochen Hecht will also be out with "dizziness" so Mair will be coming back to the lineup.
It has not been announced who will be in net for the Ducks tonight. Jonas Hiller has backstopped the last 3 games for the Ducks, while "allstar" J.S. Giguere has gone 1-5-2 with a 3.68 GAA over his last 9. My guess? Hiller. Bobby Ryan (never trust a guy with two first names) and Ryan Getzlaf have led the Ducks as of late. However, they did just get powerplay force Teemu Selanne back in the lineup.
One thing to note for the Sabres, get a lead and you're set. After trailing the first period, the Ducks have a winning percentage of, get this, 0. After trailing after two periods? .125. That's your fun fact of the day.
Anyway, I just hope Roy, Connolly, and Vanek go blocker side, can't beat Julie the Cat glove side. No way, no how.
