Gerbe Recalled Again

Comin off a concussion (that's bound to happen when you're a generous 5'6") Nate Gerbe has recently returned to Portland, and 2 games later, finds himself back with the Buffalo Sabres. I'm an unabashed Thunderpunch fan, he was fun to watch in the NCAA's and like St. Louis, Gionta, et al. before him, anyone that small you just have to root for.

2 nights ago the Pirates played a regular season game up in HSBC Arena, with both Gerbe and Buffalo native Tim Kennedy notching goals (even though Gerbe was ejected for a scrum in the 1st period). But Gerbe won't be making that trip back to Portland he'll be sticking around for tonight's rematch with the Sens. He won't be tired either, you know, since he only played 5 minutes the other night.

Thunderpunch is currently tied for the AHL rookie scoring lead, with 20 goals and 17 assists in just 32 games. He's tied with the aforementioned Kennedy.

What does this mean for lines? I'm not sure, but I'll update after the morning skate.

Update: Dan Paille will be a scratch for a 3rd consecutive game. Why? Lindy Ruff said he simply cannot provide the scoring punch to fill the void left by Vanek's injury. In other words, ride the pine bitch.

Lines still haven't been set.
