Sabres V Rangers Preview

Tonight the Rangers come to town. This is gonna be the Sabres last home guy until the 17th, then they won't have another until February 4th, needless to say, they better enjoy the home cookin' while they can.

The Rangers have lost 5 of their last 6, good news for Buffalo who's won 3 in a row (undefeated in 2009 bitches). One can only assume that Hank "Sexiest Man in the NHL" Lundqvist will be in net for the Rangers, who in his last 11 games sports a nifty 4-6-1 record and a 3.71 GAA. Ryan Miller will be in the net for the Sabres...again. Miller's got a 1.67 GAA during the win streak.

Sabres Notes: Tim Connolly and his 1.17 PPG average come back to the lineup (he's only played 6 games, it's not impressive) after missing the prior 29. He says his rib has healed and is ready to go. He'll be centering Dan Paille and Clarke MacArthur...Chris Butler, the 22 year old prospect, won't play tonight, but also won't be returned to Portland. He's going to travel with the team to Detroit tomorrow as well. Does that mean the Sabres are going to move a Dman? Or is Paestch on waivers?...Derek Roy has taken over the team points lead from Thomas Vanek, about time...Vanek's shooting percentage currently sits at 19% (27 goals, 142 shots). The guys he's tied with atop the goal scoring race? Ovechkin 11% (27, 245) Carter 14.6% (27, 185)...A win would put the Sabres into 7th place by virtue of the 2nd tie breaker with Carolina.

Rangers Notes: Don't boo Drury...Eh I don't care about the Rangers.
