Sabres V Bolts Highlights

We've finally beat a team we should. Fantastic. Nate Gerbe led the team with 4 shots, was +2, and played somewhere around 15 minutes of ice time. You could tell he was a fish out of water at times, but I think that'll come as he develops a little bit of chemistry with Roy / Vanek.

What I personally loved, was Goose, Mair, and Hecht all throwing down. And Hecht laying a beautiful shot on Vinny. Glorious.

Also love the PK, playing very well lately. Very active, gotta like that. Textbook shot by Goose on the Stafford goal, low to the outside post, Mike Smith only had one thing to do with that shot, kick save directly to Stafford for the easy put back.

As for what I didn't like. 3 goals for us, 3 goals for them. How can you let your guard down after each of the goals. Stafford Goal: Tied in 3 minutes. Vanek Scored: Tied 30 seconds later. Hecht scores: Tied 45 seconds later. That is TERRIBLE.

If we go by NHL 09 Terms, then sometimes our blueline lacks anything close to resembling defensive awareness, flailing sticks, letting marks wander into open areas, etc. Gotta pay more attention.

Here's the highlights, thanks to NHL video as per usual.
